Sometimes You Need to Adjust Your Sails

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

Happy September!

How are your goals for 2018 going?? We're 3/4 through the year, and it's easy to forget the things we set out to do all those months ago! For me, the big move to Minnesota and lots of changes have made some of my goals impractical and/or unnecessary, so I've adjusted my goals for the rest of the year and I'm sharing them with you! If you're curious what I dream about, here are my new goals for the remainder of 2018....

1. My Business Goal

My new goal for the studio is to officially open in the Twin Cities area this fall, and to have calligraphy classes and music lessons ready to go by the holiday season. There's a lot that goes behind the curtains when opening a business (have you seen the new logo??), and I have a lot of work ahead of me! I also have a list of projects that have been pushed back because of the crazy summer...I'd like to get caught up a bit before the end of the year as well!

2. My Personal Goal

My personal goal hasn't changed, but it has been a bit more complicated haha. Thankfully, we're really close to achieving it, and I couldn't be more excited! But more on that later... 😉

3. My Wellness Goal

This one has gotten tougher...I had big goals for improving my eating habits this year, and in some respects I think I've succeeded in a lot of those goals already. But this summer has been a harsh reminder of how poorly I handle extreme stress over prolonged periods of time. I think my new goal for the rest

of the year is to focus on some self-care, to reduce stress and anxiety in my day-to-day life and generally take care of my mental health and feel better.

4. My Slightly-Out-Of-Reach Dream

My new dream for the year is to be able to create a work schedule where I can take some serious vacation time once or twice per year. I'm not quite sure what that will look like yet, but I know what it will take to make it happen! What would you do with a month or two of vacation each year?

My word of the year (OPEN) has been especially applicable and challenging! I have struggled with staying open and receptive to changes as things have shifted throughout the last few months. I'm happy to say that while it's been a challenge, I think I've learned a lot and I'm grateful this was my word of the year.

We're nearly there! Let's finish strong on our goals for the year!
